Gents Ninth Headed To Final Round In SCAC Championships
The Centenary men's golf team is in ninth place after 36 holes at the 2025 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships as the Gents shot a 31-over par 319 on Monday at the New Course at White Bluff Golf Resort.

The Gents shot a 52-over par 340 on Sunday and improved by 21 shots from round one to round two. The University of St. Thomas Celts, the designated host school for the three-day event, is the team leader at 29-over par 605. The Celts lead second-place Trinity (+35 – 611) by six strokes.
The University of Dallas is third at 50-over par 626 (321-305), Concordia University is in fourth place at 52-over 628, McMurry University and Schreiner University are in a tie for fifth place (55-over 631), Texas Lutheran University is seventh (59-over 635), and Southwestern University is eighth ahead of the Gents at 61-over 637.
Cameron Curtis of St. Thomas holds the individual lead at 2-over par 146 after shooting a 2-under 70 on Monday which followed a 4-over 76 on Sunday. His teammate, Marshall Hatcher, held the lead after round one but shot a 6-over 78 on Monday to fall into a fourth-place tie with three others. Trinity's Carter Code is second at 3-over 147 and just one shot behind Curtis. Dallas' Iain Griggs is in third place and only two shots back at 4-over 148 after firing a 3-under 69 on Monday.
All five Gents shot a lower score on Monday and sophomore Aubrey Snell (Shreveport, La.) leads the way through 36 holes as he is tied for 24th place at 15-over par 159 as he shot a 4-over 76 on Monday after an opening-round 11-over 83 on Sunday. Senior Andrew Bennett (Bossier City, La.) is in 31st place at 19-over 163 as he shot a 9-over 80 after Sunday's 83. Bennett is the defending conference champion and Snell finished third on this same course last spring.
Junior Jeffrey Borchert (Katy, Texas) is tied for 33rd at 21-over 165 as he shot a 9-over par 81 on Monday after shooting a 12-over 84 Sunday. Freshman Ryder Briggs (Blanchard, La.) is in 40th place at 29-over 173 (91-82) and junior Colton Mayer (Heath, Texas) is tied for 42nd place at 33-over 177 (90-87).
Mayer will be the first Gent to tee off on Tuesday in the final round at 8:30 a.m. followed by Briggs at 8:38 a.m., Borchert at 8:46 a.m., Bennett goes off at 8:54 and finally Snell at 9:02 a.m. The men are being tested by a par-72, 7,014-yard course
