Gents 10th After Day One Of Space City Classic
The Centenary men's golf team shot a 59-over par 627 on Monday in the Space City Classic to finish the day in 10th place after two rounds as the Gents began their spring season at Gus Wortham Park Golf Course.
Houston, Texas – The Centenary men's golf team shot a 59-over par 627 on Monday in the Space City Classic to finish the day in 10th place after two rounds as the Gents began their spring season at Gus Wortham Park Golf Course.

The Gents are joined by co-hosts University of St. Thomas and Trinity University, Hardin-Simmons University, Howard Payne University, LeTourneau University, Millsaps College, Texas Lutheran University, University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, and Willamette University. The field will play the final 18 holes on Tuesday at 8 a.m. at the par-71, 6,351 yard-course. Trinity leads the way at 5-over par 573, six shots ahead of LeTourneau and seven ahead of St. Thomas' "A" team.
Senior Andrew Bennett (Bossier City, La.) led the way for the Gents on Monday as he shot rounds of 76-71 and is tied for 14th place at 5-over par 147. Trinity's Sam Rossi is the day one leader after shooting a 5-under par 137 and leads LeTourneau's Corbin Barton by two strokes.
Sophomore Aubrey Snell (Shreveport, La.) shot a 9-over 151 par (79-71) and is tied for 32nd place, junior Jeffrey Borchert (Katy, Texas) is tied for 47th after rounds of 75-85 for a total of 160 (+18). Freshman Ryder Briggs (Blanchard, La.) and senior Tyler Jones (Stonewall, La.) are 55th and 56th respectively after Briggs shot a 29-over par 170 and Jones finished at 31-over par 157.
