Gents Fall At Grambling In Exhibition Game On Tuesday
The Centenary men's basketball team fell 90-58 to the Grambling State University Tigers in an exhibition contest on Tuesday afternoon at Willis Reed Court at the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center.
Grambling, La. - The Centenary men's basketball team fell 90-58 to the Grambling State University Tigers in an exhibition contest on Tuesday afternoon at Willis Reed Court at the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center.
Grambling took a 52-20 lead at halftime and then each team scored 38 points in a competitive second half. The Gents were back in action for the first time since falling 91-75 to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Cru in a non-conference contest on Dec. 19 at home. The Tigers improved to 3-0 at home this season as they were back on the court for the first time since losing 89-63 at Ohio State last Tuesday.
Senior G Quentin Beverly (Katy, Texas) led the Gents with 15 points and was joined in double figures by junior F Dontarius Coleman (Gibsland, La.) who had 11.
Centenary now turns its focus to regular-season and Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play as the Gents are set to face LeTourneau University at home on Friday at 5:30 PM.
