Gents Fall To Eagles On Senior Day
The Centenary men's basketball team had its season-high six-game winning streak snapped on Saturday as the Gents fell 68-61 to the University of the Ozarks Eagles in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference game inside the Gold Dome.
Shreveport - The Centenary men's basketball team had its season-high six-game winning streak snapped on Saturday as the Gents fell 68-61 to the University of the Ozarks Eagles in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference game inside the Gold Dome.
The Gents (10-13, 8-6 SCAC) lost for the first time in nearly a month while the Eagles improved to 4-19 overall and 3-11 in SCAC play.
Senior G Quentin Beverly (Katy, Texas) was honored in a Senior Day ceremony before the game and recognized for reaching 1,000 career points last month.
The Gents, 8-3 in their last 11 games, have clinched a berth into the 2026 SCAC Tournament (Feb. 27-March 1) to be held in Conway, Ark.
GENTS' REMAINING SEASON SCHEDULE:
FEB. 20 AT COLORADO COLLEGE – 6:30 PM
FEB. 22 AT ST. THOMAS – NOON
The top six teams in the conference (top three in each division) will qualify for the SCAC Men's Basketball Tournament and the winner will earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. LeTourneau (12-2), St. Thomas (13-0), and Concordia (12-1), have also clinched tournament berths.
