Ladies Set For Final Weekend At Home Capped By Senior Night On Saturday
The Centenary women's basketball team will play its final two home games of the season this weekend beginning with a rematch versus the Hendrix College Warriors in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play on Friday at 7:30 PM inside the Gold Dome.

The Ladies will wrap up the weekend on Saturday versus the University of the Ozarks Eagles at 6 PM on Senior Night as Amiyah Barrow (Baton Rouge, La.), Kyra Stokes (Shreveport, La.), Layla Powell (Fort Worth, Texas), Paige Stowers (Waller, Texas), and Savannah Stowers (Waller, Texas) will all be honored in a pregame ceremony.
The Ladies (3-18, 2-10 SCAC) enter Friday's game against the Warriors (12-8, 8-4 SCAC) aiming to snap a five-game losing streak and improve upon their 1-8 home record this season. Centenary and Hendrix are meeting for the second time in a week after the Warriors handed the Maroon and White a 72-55 loss last Friday in Conway, Ark.
Hendrix, 6-5 on the road this season, then defeated LeTourneau University in overtime on Saturday by a score of 74-69 and Centenary completed its weekend on Saturday with a 74-41 loss to the University of the Ozarks Eagles in Clarksville, Ark.
The Ladies average 50.0 PPG, shoot 32.6 % from the floor, 26.0 % from 3-point range, and 64.1 % from the free-throw line while averaging 35.0 rebounds/game, 9.1 assists/game, 11.1 steals/game, and 2.3 blocks/game.
Ladies' Season Individual Statistical Leaders:
Scoring: Senior G Amiyah Barrow (Baton Rouge, La.) – 9.4 PPG
Rebounding: Senior F Kyra Stokes (Shreveport, La.) – 6.7 RPG
Assists: Barrow – 1.7/game
Blocks: Stokes – 0.8/game
Steals: Cabrera – 1.4/game
Barrow has scored in double figures 10 times this season and ranks in the top 30 in the league in scoring and in the top 10 in minutes played (31.7/game). Barrow, a two-time All-SCAC selection, needs just five treys to move into the program's all-time top 10 for 3-point baskets made as she currently has 67 and she owns 731 career points, 321 rebounds, 164 assists, and 82 steals.
Stokes is ranked in the top 10 in the league in blocked shots and in the top 15 in the SCAC in rebounding while also averaging 6.7 PPG. She has scored in double figures six times this season with a pair of double-digit rebounding efforts. Stokes, who was named All-SCAC as a sophomore, has 535 career points, 483 rebounds, 69 blocked shots, 51 steals, and 28 assists. She will finish her career ranked in the all-time top 10 in both blocks and rebounds.
Cabrera ranks in the top 15 in the conference in steals, Powell is in the top 15 in 3-PT FG made and freshman F Emily Cortez (Thibodaux, La.) ranks in the top 10 in blocked shots. Powell, averaging 6.5 PPG, has reached double figures five times this season. An Honorable-Mention All-SCAC selection last season, Powell owns 502 career points, 169 rebounds, 86 steals, 83 assists and 59 treys.
The Stowers twins transferred to Centenary from Lesley University before last season. Paige Stowers has played in 15 games this season and scored a career-high five points against the University of Dallas at home on Jan. 31 and Savannah Stowers has played in 19 games and scored a career-high nine against LeTourneau at home on Jan. 2.
Centenary will finish the regular season next weekend with games on Friday, Feb. 20 at Colorado College and Sunday, Feb. 22 at the University of St. Thomas in Houston.
